The crisis between Western countries and Russia over the annexation of the Crimea peninsula to Russia continues. The European Union and United States have imposed sanctions on Russian officials and their in response. Furthermore, Kiev announced its forces are on high alert and it has summoned its ambassador from Moscow.
Ukrainian officials reiterated they are digging a defensive canal and installed concrete bunkers along their 150-km long border with Russia. The goal of the canal digging project in the eastern border with Russia is to protect Ukraine’s eastern borders.
