Iraqi militant groups under the command of Bashar Assad: report

The Assad regime, not able to fight off the armed opposition fighters with its classic-style army, has resorted to seeking support from the regimes of Iran and Iraq in order to maintain his rule with the support of their militants, Al Arabiya TV reported on Thursday, April 3rd.
Western reports indicate in addition to Lebanese Hezbollah militants, Iraqi paramilitary forces have begun going to Syria from the spring of 2012 and were slowly seen in the Syria battlefields. Today they are numbered at 40,000.

The most recent Iraqi militant group that has been formed to fight alongside Assad troops is the Assadollah al-Ghaleb Brigade commanded by an individual by the name of Aqil Mussawi. He has been seen outside the Damascus International Airport wearing the uniform of Maliki’s special SWAT forces. Additionally, five other paramilitary groups in Syria are missioned to protect Assad, and their expenses are provided by the Tehran regime. However, their orders come from Assad’s officers.
