Following heavy blows inflicted by Syrian rebels, Assad forces are losing their spirit and many internal clashes have been reported in this regard with dozens of troops left killed and injured, Orient TV reported. These attacks took place in the city of al-Safire south of Aleppo.
Bloody clashes in al-Safiery between Assad’s ‘Shabiha’ paramilitary forces and the army, while according to orders the army was to transfer these forces to the country’s coastal areas. 20 Assad troops and paramilitary force members were killed in al-Safire Square, reports indicate. The commander of the Shabiha paramilitary forces intended to pull his forces out of this area and transfer them to coastal and northern areas of Syria where rebels are making major advances. This decision by the Shabiha commander led to disputes with the army, which ended in armed clashes between the two forces. Assad’s air force intelligence entered the scene, arresting 180 of the Shabiha members and transferred them to an unknown location.
These clashes indicate the heavy blows the Free Syrian Army rebels have inflicted on Assad’s forces in the Latakia coastal areas, which has seriously lowered the moral of Assad’s men.
