
Iraq’s railroad workers protested Maliki government’s decision to destroy their homes, and called for recognition of their rights to keep the homes that they have been living in for years.
According to a report by Al-Hurra TV, railroad workers of the Mansour, Taji and Salehiya regions and the Beji and Mousel railway areas, staged a protest against the government’s decision to destroy their homes.
The protesters called for the revocation of the Ministry of Transportation’s decision to destroy their homes, Al-Hurra added. They also called on the Ministry of Transportation to respect the ownership rights of the railroad workers in Baghdad’s western areas, the homes that they have been living in for years.
