Nafe’ Al-Issa is a native of Salaheddin Province in Iraq and is a professor in Salahaddin University. Under the cover of Iran-Iraq Friendship Society, he has established his relations with the Iranian embassy in Baghdad. The connecting ring between him and the embassy is an Iraqi citizen working for the embassy called Falah Al-Sheibani. Al-Sheibani directly works with the member of the Ministry of Intelligence (MOIS) in the embassy Haj Ali Navidi.
Al-Issa attended the exhibition in Al-Kadhimia Neighborhood in Baghdad organized by Ahlam Al-Maliki where he was introduced by Al-Sheibani to SoryyaAbdullahi – the leader of the MOIS agent stationed at Ashraf Gate. In accordance with the Iranian embassy, Al-Issa organized on 4 Oct. 2010 a show of solidarity of the people of Salaheddin Province with the MOIS agents at Ashraf Gate. The embassy also sent a number of pro-Iran journalists to the gate to report the event.
Al-Issa has established a civil institute called Al-Rafidain Research and Studies Center which is used as a cover for his relations with the Iranian embassy. The center is based in Tikrit and runs a branch in Palestine Street in Baghdad.
With the help of the Iranian embassy and Habilian Society run by the MOIS, Al-Issa has organized a committee under the title of “Committee for Supporting Sit-in of Families at Ashraf Gate” and has appointed himself as the committee’s chairman.
The MOIS has urged Al-Issa to emphasize in his public statementson putting pressure on the residents of Ashraf and expelling them from Iraq. On 5 Sep. 2010, Al-Issa had an interview with the IRGC-run Fars News Agency saying that the PMOI help the Iraqi government’s opposition by buying foodstuff from them. By this pretext, Al-Issa and other MOIS’ agents seek to deprive the residents of Ashraf from food and their basic needs.
