Asharqiya TV revealed that the Qods Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) intends to confront the Awakening Councils through formation of special battalions in Iraq.

Citing a senior Iraqi security official, this source added: The IRGC command has formed again the known special groups and has appointed new commanders for them in order to carry out extensive operations inside Iraq.

Based on Ashrqiya TV report, this Iraqi official, on the condition of anonymity, added: The new name of these groups is “special battalions” and they are in direct connection with the Iranian regime’s senior security official Qassem Solaymani and his senior deputies.

This Senior Iraqi official added: The security system and the Multi National Forces have information which shows that these groups have been trained in order to attack the Awakening Councils as their main targets.
