Bush: Our strategy is to stop Iran’s uranium enrichment

Al-Hura T.V. on Jan. 5, broadcasted a special interview with US President G. Bush.
In the interview Bush underlined the necessity of confrontation against the threat by the Iranian regime.

He said: My message to the countries of the region is that the Iranian regime is still a threat. Replying to a question about the NIE intelligence report he said that in his next week trip to Middle East countries he would assure them that the NIE, report by the US intelligence community, says the Iranian regime had a clandestine nuclear weapon program and stopped it.

If they had a program and they suspended it, they can easily start it. As you may know one of the factors of a having a nuclear bomb is uranium enrichment and the other factor is using enriched uranium in making a bomb. The third part is the ability to carry the bomb to the target by launching missile. The Iranian regime’s ballistic missile program is actively continued. If you can enrich uranium you can rapidly and easily use it for military purposes.

He added that he has a strategy in tackling Iran and that is to stop uranium enrichment by Iranian regime. He said he would explain various punitive measures and international efforts against Iranian regime to the countries of the region and would tell them how they could be helpful in this regard.

In the end he said: We must confront the fundamentalists who for political intentions kill innocent people.
