Iran government Website “Tabnak” published an article “compensating a budget deficit for 2015 is like electrocuting people.” Rezaie, the website director wrote: government wants to compensate 46 trillion tomans of 2015 budget deficit by ignoring targeted subsidies and increasing of energy providers like electricity. According to targeted subsidy plan, the prices of energy providers will be freed and become real in 2 phases, and the surplus will be paid back to the people.
Issuing new bills surprised the public, because in the new bill, the ministry of electricity increased the prices by at least %34.  The interesting thing is that media found out authorities made mistake after the new bills with %34 increased in prices were issued, but the authorities could not believe this tremendous error. Issuance of new bills shocked the public and resulted in forming a popular movement on the internet to stop paying water and electricity bills, so they could voice their protest to the authorities. Now once again the state starts a new wave of increasing price of electricity in the beginning of 2015 and before Nowrooz (the Iranian New Year) festivities, so people will witness again higher prices especially in the area of electricity.
