In Marivan, western Iran, youth have been welcoming the beginning of the Spring Season by playing out during days and lighting fire and firecrackers and fireworks at nights. Youth and residents of Marivan have been ignoring government and police intimidations banning the welcoming celebration of spring and use of fireworks ironically as a threat to the mullahs’ security by welcoming the Feast of Fire ceremony, the last Wednesday of winter, which comes up next week. During these days the market for selling fireworks is booming and everybody is preparing for this festivity.
According to numerous reports, the Suppressive Security Forces, SSF, have been unable stop the use of fireworks and do not dare to prevent the youth from celebrating these festivities.
