Mrs. Sholeh Pakravan, Reyhaneh Jabbari’s mother, a 26-year-old woman who was hanged on Oct. 25th for allegedly fatally stabbing an intelligence ministry agent seven and half years ago has commemorated the 40th day of her daughter’s death through sharing her thoughts with millions of sympathizers on the internet.

Part of what shares with the humanity and justice which was never served for her daughter, reads:
… Forty days and nights without Reyhaneh… it has been 40 days since her departure, but I have not been able to cope with my new life. 40 days and nights might be short to count, but in reality it has been very difficult for me… in one of her recorded sound bites when she was alive, she said “I am alive and am breathing.”
I will go again tomorrow at her gravesite and I stand there so she would know that I am keen to keep the promise I made to her. Many anonymous and kind sympathizers helped me decorate my little house with memories of Reyhaneh. Reyhan, my daughter used to hold many celebrations in prison for other inmates, telling them kind words to lift some of the burdens of prison hardships and frustrations off their shoulders. She used to give them hope for life. It looks like that the heavens has knitted her grace with simplicity. The parking lot in front of my house has got a new dressing…
Some have written poems, some have expressed their genuine and deepest love for Reyhaneh through photos and songs and movie clips. One of such poems from an anonymous poet is titled “the last night”, a very poetic and moving piece that I read over and over…
It is hard to describe what went on during past 40 day to me, and it is even harder to go through coming days, but with what Reyhaneh left behind, I am sure that I will never forget what she used to say that “death is not the end of life.”
