Iran: 150,000 unemployed in last 12 months

The Iranian regime’s official numbers and statistics on employment are unrealistic. The secretary general of the mullahs’ Laborers’ House announced at least 150,000 workers have been unemployed during the past 12 months.
“Based on social security data, during the past 12 months at least 150,000 people were laid off from their jobs,” Alireza Mahjub said in an interview with the state-run Etemad daily. “This means 150,000 people were introduced to social security for unemployment insurance.”
This is while the Iranian regime’s so-called social security program has very strict rules and does not cover everyone. These numbers are revealed at a time when last week, the Iranian regime’s chief of the Census Center claimed the country’s unemployment rate has actually decreased by 2%. Furthermore, Ahmadinejad had said 5.2 million jobs have been created during the past 6 months!
