Egypt: Plea to inspect Iranian ships for weapon shipments to Assad regime

According to an Egyptian media a plea has been presented to the Egyptian judiciary which requests that in order to prevent the transfer of weapons to the murderous Syrian dictatorship, Iranian regime’s ships passing through the Suez Canal be inspected, wrote the Assre Iran News Agency.
“A plea has been presented to the Egyptian judiciary which calls on the government, to issue an order to inspect the Iranian regime’s ships passing through the Suez Canal in order to assure that the ships’ cargos are not weapons, detainees or other shipments that might contribute to crimes in Syria”, wrote the Egyptian Al Wefd Daily. “Also the shipments must not be material or military support for the Syrian government”.
According to this report, the plea writes: “The Egyptian Government is a signatory of UN treaties, including the Geneva Conventions which considers the support of civilians during an armed conflict as one of its most important articles”.
An organization affiliated to the Iranian regime wrote in relation to the Egyptian judiciary’s plea: This act is being carried out in support of Assad’s opposition.
