
On August 11, 1918, the German forces were defeated in the battle of Amiens Front in northern France and retreated. This was the last great battle of the First World War after which the German forces were compelled to more retreats. The reasons of the German retreats in August 1918 was lack of reserve force, consecutive surrender of weary and disappointed Germans and also demonstrations of the anti-war and progressive forces in Berlin.
