Popular resistance forces led by a number of military officers loyal to Yemen’s legitimate government have taken over the Ra’s Omran region located in northwest Aden and the coastal roads leading to the strategic Bab el Mandeb Strait, al-Arabiya TV reported on Sunday, July 12th.
Popular resistance forces, backed by the Arab coalition airstrikes, attacked and seized positions belonging to Houthi militants and elements of former Yemen president Ali Abdullah Salah, sources reported.
Popular resistance forces used special weaponry received from the Arab coalition and were able to reach very quick military objectives, sources added.
Taking control over areas in northwest of Aden will decrease the blockade imposed on this city, these sources concluded.
