The Kuwaiti daily Al-Seyassah wrote on Jan 23 that senior members of US Congress from both Democrat and Republican parties called on the UN Security Council to extend the role of the International Force stationed in Lebanon to confront the Iranian and Syrian regimes agents involved in creating unrest in that country.

The paper added the UNSC Resolution 1701 which calls for the disarmament of Hezbollah and throwing away the militias affiliated with Iran and Syria in Lebanon. If the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) is not doing anything about this matter it is better, they leave Lebanon immediately.
