PACE approves resolution urging Europe to implement court verdicts on terrorist blacklist

On Wednesday, Jan 23, The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) which contains representatives from 47 European countries approved in its official session in Strasburg the report and resolution presented by judiciary and human rights’ committee of this assembly regarding necessity of implementation of the judicial entities verdicts about the terrorist blacklists.

The European Council’s approved resolution which was passed with 101 positive, 3 negative and 4 abstention votes emphasizing that the EU Council of Ministers and the member governments of EU ought to immediately implement the verdicts of state and European competent judicial entities.

Representatives of PACE emphasized that any enlisted person or organization must have the right of “being informed of allegations” and the right of standing at court and right of appeal to the verdict.

This resolution criticized EU Council of Ministers for not implementing the European Court of Justice Verdict regarding annulment of designation of the PMOI and underscored that PMOI was still a victim of human rights violation.

After the ratification of the resolution and the report by Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, insisting on the immediate enforcement of the rulings of European Court of Justice and the British Court regarding the annulment of PMOI’s designation, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance said: “Today the European Union is standing before the European Judiciary and Legislative powers and hundreds of millions of European people whose representatives have gathered in the Parliamentarian Assembly. The European countries should not allow that this scandal and offense continues.”

Mrs. Rajavi described this resolution and the report by Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly as an indicator of vigilant conscience of the European nations against the grave injustice that has been imposed against the Iranian people and Resistance by the terrorism label and for appeasing the religious fascism.
