The White House condemned the assassination of Sheikh Abu Sattar Abu Risha, Secretary General of al- Anbar province Salvation Council, as a heinous act.

In his morning speech, President Bush denounced the assassination of this Sunni leader of Iraq.
General Petraeus also said, “the death of Abu Risha is a terrible loss for al-Anbar province and the whole Iraq.”
