“We do not welcome Ahmadinejad”, Secretary General of the Islamic-Arabic Council of Lebanon

According to AL-Seyassah daily, Mohammad al-Husseini, Secretary General of the Islamic-Arabic Council of Lebanon warned against Ahmadinejad’s visit to Lebanon. “Due to moral, religious and Arabic and above all, Lebanese reasons, we do not welcome the representative of this regime in our country,” he said.
The Kuwaiti-published Al-Seyassah daily asked al-Husseini in an interview: “You were the first person to express your opposition to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s visit to Lebanon. Thus, other movements also expressed their opposition. Why?”
“Before we talk about the circumstances of this visit, the timing and its goals, we have a strong stance against the Iranian regime due to its lacking of popular, religious and political legitimacy,” Mohammad al-Husseini answered. “The velayat-faqih regime that kills the Iranian people is a corrupt, murderer and criminal regime. This is proven with a quick look at the events inside Iran. Therefore, due to moral, religious and Arabic, and above all Lebanese reasons, we do not welcome the representatives of this regime in our country.”
“In the political spectrum, this regime has proven that it interferes in Arabic nations’ internal affairs as part of a very routine and fully implemented agenda,” al-Husseini added. “These actions are carried out to create disorder and pave the way to gain authority over such countries through occupation or enforcing its own mandate, weakening the particular country as a result. Each time disruption occurs in Bahrain, Tehran’s role is proven with decisive evidence. Terrorist cells discovered in Kuwait and UAE were rooted back to the Iranian regime. Saudi Arabia has also been targeted by this regime. Tehran’s military and security officials are responsible for 90% of Iraq’s atrocities.”
“And then we reach Lebanon. The Iranian regime has its own military wing in Lebanon, transforming this country into a regional-international stage. Due to all these reasons we do not accept that the representative of the Iranian regime be the guest of any Arabic country, since this would mean accepting their behavior and succumbing to their conspiracies of expanding their empire throughout our countries.”
“The timing of Ahmadinejad’s visit is suspicious since this visit is coinciding with a huge crisis in Lebanon,” he said about the conditions of Ahmadinejad’s visit. “There is this concern that he will instigate religious sedition by backing a particular side in the issue of international tribunals or illegal weapons.”
