A US combat unit has arrived in Fort Habbaniya east of al-Anbar Province to participate in retaking the city of Ramadi from ISIS, Al Arabiya TV reported on Monday citing an Iraqi security source.
This source, who was providing this information under the condition of anonymity, told Asharq al-Awsat daily, “A US cargo plane landed in Fort Habbaniya carrying 160 US troops along with military equipment and armored vehicles.”
These US military troops will participate with the recently trained Iraqi forces in retaking al-Anbar Province.
