Samantha Power, US Ambassador to the United Nations, in a session Friday night at the Security Council welcomed Maliki stepping down. Washington believes Iraq’s future political success relies on establishing unity and an inclusive Iraqi government, she said while emphasizing on confronting ISIS as a challenge for the Iraq and Syrian peoples along with the international community.
