Iran: burned Kurdish school girls stage protest outside Rouhani office

Injured Kurdish school girls of Piranshahr, western Iran, went to Tehran on Saturday, August 16th, along with their families and held a protest gathering outside Rouhani’s office. The protested the lack of any measures to provide for their treatments, education and insurance needs.
Ahmad Niaz, the lawyer of a number of these families, said, “Unfortunately the cruelty imposed on these children has multiplied because the insurance company is not willing to provide all their coverage, for the sole reason that they are girls.” These schoolgirls suffered severe burns in 2012 during a blaze that erupted in their village school, and two of them even lost their lives.
