The Washington Post wrote US President Barack Obama has a new plan to provide military support to rebel combat units in Syria, consisting of a limited number of anti-air missiles. The plan revealed by this American daily includes six main articles:
1. Training of an average of 600 rebels each month
2. CIA supervision over training
3. Delivering 5 anti-air missiles with supervision of the use of these missiles and using TV technology with the purpose of the missile do not fall into the hands of fundamentalists
4. Maintaining the number of moderate forces and eliminating three fundamentalist groups blacklisted by Washington
5. Guaranteeing Friends of Syria’s support for this plan
6. Backing local council’s aid agenda in freed areas in order to establish human corridors and sending humanitarian aid

The US has also allocated over $1.7bn for the Syria crisis. In a statement issued by the US Defense Department, direct US aid of $260mn will be presented in non-lethal equipment to the moderate opposition. Furthermore, services will also be sent to local councils and civil society organizations in freed areas created to establish the rule of law.
