Tribal sheikhs and political and social figures in Iraq emphasized on the people’s demands during Friday’s massive demonstrations across the country, saying these rallies will continue until all the people’s demands are met.
“The reason the people’s requests and slogans have turned into the fall of the system is that we have not received responses to any of our demands from the current regime in Baghdad,” said Sheikh Adnan at the enormous demonstration in Ramadi in al-Anbar Province where these unprecedented rallies, dubbed the “Iraq Spring” began nearly a month ago.
“We have to the Dignity Square in Ramadi from the protest square in Samara. We intend to send a message to the government saying if the people’s requests are not responded to, their demands will increase and lead to the fall of the entire regime,” said Sheikh Ahmad al-Sameraii.
