UNSC adopts resolution condemning downing of Malaysia MH17 airliner

The United Nations Security Council has adopted on Tuesday unanimously a resolution condemning the shooting down of Malaysia airliner MH17 and calling for a swift international investigation.
This resolution was brought to the UN Security Council by Australia calling on armed groups to allow the recovery of the bodies, access to the crash site and stop tampering the crash site. All parties should cooperate, including Russia, said Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop. The resolution calls for safe, secure, full and unrestricted access to the crash site for the investigative authorities, Bishop added.
The UN Secretary-General has offered to assist the investigation. The resolution also calls for a ceasefire around the crash site area.
298 passengers were on board this airliner, all killed in this incident.
