UN: over 2 million displaced people in Yemen

More than two million people are currently displaced in Yemen, the latest United Nations analysis shows. Half a million people have been displaced in the past few months alone.
Over 21 million people across this country are in need of humanitarian support, the world body added.
In Aden and Ta’iz most of the people have fled their homes, Reuters reported. Many of those displaced have sought refuge in the three thousand abandoned schools across the country. The lack of running water and adequate food, along with hygiene problems are merely a number of the dilemmas the displaced people are facing.
This wave of displaced Yemenis began after the Iran-backed Houthis staged a coup d’état in this country.
