Ukraine Interim President Oleksander Turchynov issued an order for widespread anti-terrorism operations to confront Russian elements in eastern Ukraine.
“What is taking place in this area is an artificial clash with the goal of destroying the government and state of Ukraine,” he said.

At the same time the UN Security Council held a meeting where US Ambassador Samantha Power said sanctions against Russia will intensify if Moscow continues its provocations in Ukraine.
