19 members of the U.S. Congress from both parties asked for imposing sanction on exporting gasoline to Iran. Marc Cregg, republican member of the budget committee of the U.S. Congress said that the sanctions must target the Iranian regime’s dependence on importing %40 of its consumed gasoline.
He added: a major part of the 16 country which sell and transfer gasoline to Iran, including United Arab Emirates, Netherlands and Britain, do not have good relations with the Iranian regime because of the wrong policies of Ahmadinejad in nuclear program and support of terrorism.
Tom Lantos, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, welcomed sanctions against the Iranian regime’s Guards Corps and asked for imposing sanctions against foreign companies investing in Iran’s energy sector. He said: these sanctions can make a significant blow to Iran’s gas and oil industries.
