U.S. Congress Condemns Iran Meddling in South America

The majority of U.S. Congress approved a resolution condemning Iranian regime’s interferences in Latin American countries, reported VOA News on Nov. 6.

The resolution strongly condemns Iranian regimes’ influence in the Latin American countries aimed at forming a coalition with Venezuela, Cuba and Bolivia. Referring to covert activities of the terrorist groups supported by the Iranian regime, i.e. Hezbollah in border regions of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, the resolution also asked the U.S. allies countries in the region such as Argentina to form an anti- terrorism joint operation committee and transfer of intelligence in the region to block Iranian regime’s growing influence.

The resolution also refers to supported by the Iranian regime’s financial supports of terrorist groups and Hezbollah through narcotic brokerage in Latin America which amounts up to 300 to 500 million Dollars annually.
