Syrian opposition session in Qatar seeking to establish unified front

The session of Syrian opposition groups meeting in Qatar continued its efforts on establishing a unified front consisting of opposition forces inside and outside Syria began its work on Sunday and continued into Monday.
The participants are gathered to reorganize and expand the Syrian National Council, which is the largest opposition movement outside the country, tune the efforts of Assad’s dissidents and establish a government-in exile as the alternative to the Assad regime.
“In the conference between the SNC and representatives of forces on the field inside Syria on unifying our positions and views, we discussed various issues to establish a body representing all Syrians and be equivalent to a government-in exile,” SNC chairman Abdel Baset Seda said in his opening speech.
The SNC is the main pillar and guarantor for the implementation of this plan, he added.
