Al-Mustqbal a Lebanese daily reported that the National Salvation Front of Syria led by Abdul Halim Khaddam, former Syrian vice-president, in a statement condemned interferences in Lebanon and meddling in presidential election by Iran and Syria.
The statement points out the Iranian and Syrian regimes are trying to inflict political vacuum in Lebanon and are damaging the national unity and security of that country by obstructing the presidential election. Such interferences will endanger the security and stability of Lebanon and the region. The Iranian and Syrian regimes believe by obstructing the presidential elections in Lebanon and pushing the country toward chaos and turmoil, they can force the Arab countries and international community to give them advantages.
The Syrian Salvation Front called on Lebanese patriots to stand united and firm in front of foreign interferences.
The Front also called on international community and Arab world to support the Lebanese constitutional institutions and establishments, and try their best efforts to stop Iranian and Syrian interferences in Lebanon’s internal affairs in order to preserve the unity and independence of Lebanon.
