Pro-Assad media outlets in Syria reported Brigadier General Mohsen Shadud, in charge of the Assad army’s operations, was killed in recent battles for Deraa, according to Orient TV reporting on July 26. This is the second brigadier general killed in the recent Syrian rebels’ campaign named Operation Southern Storm in Deraa.
Prior to him Staff Brigadier General Shahin al-Ahmad, commander of operations in the Assad army’s special forces division, was also killed.
Furthermore, after dozens of Assad military personnel around Deraa fled the frontlines and sought refuge in the city of Azra’, state media have warned of Assad forces completely crumbling in Deraa Province.
