Syrian rebels said they have taken over the Transportation Department in the town of Harsta, just east of Damascus. Other news networks reported the rebels have taken over a military battalion base.
Intense battles in various axes around the town of Assad and liberated areas alongside the Damascus-Homs highway were also reported on this day, Orient TV reported on Friday. Rebels are making major advances, while a huge sandstorm had engulfed Damascus and adjacent areas.
In the meantime, rebels in Dariya, west of Damascus, posted a video clip showing how they killed a number of Assad troops around this city. The Assad troops were attempting to infiltrate into the Jam’iat region.
15 member of the 4th Special Forces Division were killed in the Jam’iat region and Mazze military airport.
Assad forces responded by dropping 20 barrel bombs on the Jam’iat region alone.
