In clashes that recently erupted east of the town of Qonitare over 40 of Assad’s troops were killed while dozens of others were injured and taken as prisoners.
These forces in response staged vicious aerial bombings and shelling in this region in an act of revenge. A number of residents in the town of al-Qahtaniya became victims of these hideous crimes by Assad’s forces, reports indicate.
Syrian regime forces also intended to make advances towards the al-Qahtaniya region met stiff resistance from rebels and fell into an ambush.
