Al Jazeera TV cited Sheikh Ali Hatam, emir of Iraq’s al-Doleim tribe, warning Maliki of a nearing all-out security meltdown in the capital.
“These are my final words to Maliki’s government. If you want to resolve the (Anbar crisis), you must do it quickly or else Baghdad and other provinces will crumble in the coming weeks,” he said.
“The tribes have taken up arms to defend their religion, lands and dignity… so long as cruelty exists, we will not put down our weapons,” Sheikh Hatam emphasized.
