King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia allocated $500 million for humanitarian support to the Iraqi people to cope with the recent unrest causing so many people to be displaced from their homes, al-Arabiya TV reported.
A source inside the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry said this support is for all those who have been affected, including the displaced, without taking into any consideration their religious or ethnic backgrounds.
This source also said Saudi Arabia has informed the UN Secretary-General about this aid package, adding this aid should be provided through UN institutions.
