Saudi Arabia has supported Lebanon with $1bn in aid to the Lebanese Army to fight radical fundamentalists. According to AFP, former Lebanese prime minister Saad Hariri, head of the al-Mustaqbel current, confirmed this report and said the support is to preserve the security of Lebanon.
AFP added the Lebanese Army has during the past few days launched heavy clashes against radical fundamentalists in the city of Arsal on its borders with Syria.
