Shahr-e Kord
Following the arson in Shahr-e Kord prison and 12 innocent inmates losing their lives, a number of injured prisoners were taken to Kashani Hospital in this city.
According to incoming reports families of these prisoners have rallied outside the hospital and are demanding to see their loved ones. However, Iranian regime authorities dispersed the crowd fearing the spread of this rally.
South Pars gas field
A group of workers of the phase 14 South Pars gas field operations are protesting not receiving their paychecks for the past months. Furthermore, all personnel of the phases 20 and 21 in the Pars World Company, consisting of 600 workers, are on strike demanding their unpaid salaries.
Tehran
The strike launched by most paper and textile merchants in Tehran bazaar entered its second week. They are protesting tax extortions and the bazaar merchants are saying the wholesalers have boycotted the tax department. They have closed their offices and stores.
The strike launched by metal merchants in the Tehran continues after 4 weeks. Many of these retailers have closed their stores protesting increasing tax extortions.
A group of drivers of the Tehran bus company went on strike on Tuesday, August 5th, protesting not receiving their salaries for the past few months and their paychecks being very low.
Youths in Tehran’s Sadeghiya region on Monday, August 4th, clashed with repressive ‘Guidance’ police patrols. This scuffle began when the agents intended to arrested a young girl and intended to take her away. However, the youths blocked the agents’ vehicle and beat two of them, releasing the girl to leave the area. As the clashes continued the repressive forces used electric shockers on the head of a youth and he went unconscious. Then the agents arrested three of the youths.
