Condoleezza Rice and Bernard Kouchner, the foreign Ministers of United States and France, asked for escalation of international sanctions against the mullahs’ regime.
In a joint press conference with Bernard Kouchner, Condoleezza Rice said that the United States and France shared common views on the posture of exerting pressure on the Iranian regime to stop its ambitions.

She added that basically there was no difference between the path US sees for Iran’s situation and what the international community must do.

Also Bernard Kouchner said: “Our solution is the United Nations’ resolutions. We hope that UN’s third resolution to intensify sanctions against Iran will be approved. The sanctions haven’t been effective enough so far.”

He added: “Another alternative is the solution that the European Union’s countries taken. This solution seeks special punishments against the Iranian regime’s consuming and industrial system.”
