Iranian state-run Iranian daily Eatemad wrote on Sep. 20 that 232 members of Mullahs’ parliament in Iran in a letter threatened French government of reconsideration on economic ties between Iran and France after what they called it unwise and hostile position by France.
The letter says: “the French government’s position is regrettable. The new government of France should well understand that the Persian Gulf region is a sensitive region, oil rich and tied with world economy and igniting any fire in this ocean of oil will ablaze the whole region, and France with its widespread relations with this region will lose more than others.”
Member of the directorate of parliament Hamid Reza Haji Babai threatened: “France must be sure it will see the outcome of its hostile and unwise position.”
The parliament speaker who is also a member of the Supreme National Security Council said that he would raise the issue in the council and a decision would be made. “The French politicians must be sure that they will see the negative consequences of these stances”, he said.
