The Reporters Without Borders (RWB) released a statement on occasion of March 8 in which it condemned suppression of female reporters by the Iranian regime.

Referring to banning of newspapers and publications in Iran under mullahs’ rule and detainment of women web loggers, RWB held Ahmadinejad’s government responsible for these suppressions.

The statement reads: During last year more than 40 women activists were arrested, 32 of whom were reporters and web loggers.
