Sheikh Ahmad Mash’an Al Badiwi, spokesman of the Iraqi Ahrar Association told Al Jazeera during Friday’s massive rallies the protesters’ sole demand is Maliki overthrown.
“Al Kabi from Maliki’s office came to meet us and asked what our demands are. I said our first and last demand is Maliki overthrown. Our demand is revolution, the toppling of the government and all its components. We told him the sedition has been caused by Iran through Maliki, and if you want to silence the sedition, tell Maliki to step aside,” he said.
