In an interview with Al-Jazeera T.V. on Oct. 26, the U.S. State Department spokesmen Tom Casey said: the new punitive sanctions announced against Iranian regime are to restrain the regime from acquiring nuclear weaponry. What has been announced is in compliance with the declared policy of U.S. and other permanent members of the Security Council and Germany and also corresponds with the international community objective.

He added: this is the same action carried out by England and France, other European countries, Japan and others to find a solution for the danger of Iranian regime’s nuclear program.
