
The Al-Malaf website on Dec. 2, reported that the deputy governor of Karbala, Jawad al-Hassanawi called on international organs to intervene to stop the murders and crimes by the operatives affiliated with the Iranian regime. He said: “Nouri al-Maliki has prevented the arrest warrants to be carried out for these criminals in Karbala.”
Jawad al-Hassanawi revealed the names of officers of the third battalion who had mistreated and abused the prisoners in that battalion and said 47 detainees who had been subject to such crimes were ready to testify before any international committee about the crimes committed. He also revealed that Maliki had ordered the override of arrest warrants of the Karbala police chief and the commander of the third battalion and prevented interrogation of the governor of Karbala, Aqeel al-Khazaee affiliated with the Al-Dawa party.
