On December 2, 1952, Dr. Mosaddeq communicated the press legal act to the Interior Ministry. Based on that act, any kinds of press censorship were prohibited. That is why the Press were in absolute freedom during Dr. Mosaddeq’s rule. But following the Aug, 19, 1953 Coup against Dr. Mosaddeq, the Press Act was suspended and then the Shah’s intelligence system censored and filtered the press again.
After anti-monarchy Revolution, the Iranian people felt freedom of press for a short period of time, but again the press was taken over by the mullahs and their barbaric guards (IRGC members) who dominated the whole country’s press with even more severity than before. Now Iran is under the severest and tightest censorship and filtering of the public media in all its history.
