In an interview with Baghdad T.V. on Oct. 17, Iraq’s Vice President and General Secretary of Islamic Party Tariq al-Hashemi declared Iran’s Intelligence Ministry interferes in Iraq’s internal affairs.
Referring to Iranian regime he said: “One of the distressing cases and problems on which we have differences with the Maliki’s government has to do with the mutual relations with Iraq’s neighbors and Arab countries… Iraq is being aggressed by its neighboring countries and its sovereignty is being violated.”
Mr. Hashemi added: “presently the country’s security system is headed by a secretary general of a religious party.”
About the detainees piled up in Iraq’s prisons, Mr. Hashemi said: every group of prisoners are released from any prison, however next group are arrested and put behind bars, therefore, neither the number of prisoners has changed nor the human rights record has been improved.
