In a gathering, heads and officials of a number of Iraqi women associations announced the formation of ‘Union of Iraqi Women’s Democratic Associations with the main slogan of “Towards unifying Iraqi freedom-loving women to cut Iranian regime’s meddling and establishment of a democratic Iraq”

The participating associations in the gathering were:
– Association of Khalis Freedom-loving Women
– Association of Nai Democratic Women
– Association of Baghdad’s teachers
– Association of Baghdad’s Resistant Students
– Association of Future Iraqi Women, Kirkuk branch
– Association of Daquq Freedom-loving Woman
– Association of Dujma Freedom-loving women.

In this gathering, Mrs. Sohad Dhari, chairwoman of Association of Nai Democratic Women took poll from the audience regarding formation of the Union.
Then Mrs. Maryam Jamshidi, from PMOI, spoke about the Iranian regime’s criminal act of Ashraf City water pumping station and its surrounding villages.
Then several other speakers delivered their speeches.

The final declaration of the gathering was read by Mrs. Saham Abdulhussein Kadhim, head of Association of Future Iraqi Women in Kirkuk reads: women cannot achieve their rights unless through their real participation in the leadership of the society to establish real democracy and independence in the country. Women suffer more than other stratums of the society from insecurity, murder, poverty and unemployment which is the outcome of the unbridled Iranian regime’s meddling; in this regard we condemn any negotiations with the Iranian regime over Iraq, and ask for closing its embassy and all consulates in Iraq. We announce our decisive support of formation of a national salvation government headed by Dr. Ayad Allawi in order to save Iraq from the present impasse. The declaration was signed by the attendees.
