NINA news agency, 13 Jan 2013 – Sheikh Ali Hataj al-Suleiman, emir of the al-Dolaim tribe said the main goal of closing border passages was to facilitate the entry of Iranian goods to Iraq and save Iran’s destroyed economy.
“Currently, the government is taking measures to save Iran’s destroyed economy by importing expired foodstuffs and sending the most amount of foreign currency possible to the Iranian government,” he said.
“The prime minister is taking actions to save Iran’s economy, while this regime has carried out killings in Iraq and shattered this country’s security. Maliki is committing his crimes by closing border passages to force traders and companies to import goods only from Iran,” he continued.
