
Iraq’s Independent High Electoral Commission revealed a huge case of fraud in the recent Iraqi elections taking place behind the scenes, al Rafedein TV reported on Thursday, May 8th. This embarrassing case is related to thousands of fake voting papers that were counted in favor of Maliki’s coalition. The IHEC has emphasized this case of fraud was revealed when a special ballot box related to a region of Baghdad was opened and the total number of votes were 490, while in the polling station only 285 votes were recorded, and there were 205 votes that had no registration numbers and all of them were votes in favor of Maliki’s State of Law coalition.
Al Rafedein TV added the candidates in Neinawa Province for the next parliament have stressed there were many cases of fraud in the recent elections, with the most significant being law violations in closing 130 polling stations due to the lack of adequate employees. They emphasized low security conditions were the reason behind the fact that only two employees were managing 8 polling stations. They also added money was distributed amongst the voters to choose a specific slate. Furthermore, in Neinawa in all polling stations there people voting on behalf of others.
