According to a report by the al-Sharqiya TV, Iraqi MP from Basra condemned suppression of demonstrators in Basra and Diwaniya by forces under command of Nouri al-Maliki. “The detention of people in Basra and Diwaniya who demand public services and electricity is a crime”, said Iraqi MP Saba al-Saedi.
“These arrests are carried out by SWAT forces in Basra and the ‘Ghadr Brigade’ in Diwaniya”, he added.
