Mehdi Karbalaie, representative of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani reminded in Friday prayers that Grand Ayatollah backs ongoing reforms in Iraq.
“Those who are blocking reforms and are hoping the demands of the demonstrators will deteriorate must know that the reforms are necessary and there is no fleeing of this necessity. If the demonstrators are decreased these days, they will rise once again at another time, stronger and more widespread,” he said.
“We emphasize if there is no fundamental reforms in the institutions and no serious fight against corruption, there will be no solution to reach a definite end,” Karbalaie stipulated.
“Reforms in all administrative organs across the country are related to one another, and reforms must take place in all the judiciary, legislative and executive branches,” Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani’s representative stressed.
